The myth about traffic

This is a very good post written by my friend Shawn LaFoutain…

………………….

“On a recent podcast with Brendon Burchard, he mentioned a common question he is asked

“Brandon, I want to find more customers…”
Where do I find them?
Immediately, he will reframe and ask,

“Who’s customers?”
Great question…
Because traffic and customers (aka: people) are everywhere.

You just have to know where to look.
It seems like everyone these days is jumping into paid ads

Many times without having a clue what they are doing…
✅ While that’s definitely one way to get in front of a lot of targeted potential customers really quickly…
❌ It’s usually not be the best place to start

What if instead, you take the time to identify who the leaders are in your space

Then, all you have to go is look at WHERE they are putting out their message
Then right there…
Right THERE is where you can find a goldmine of potential clients, customers, leads, traffic—whatever you want to call it…

Because in reality, those are all just different names marketers use when they are talking about PEOPLE!

Just go where the PEOPLE are.

The internet has made it so easy to find people…

They’re already congregating based on what they’re interested in
Follow the leaders that are already talking about your thing
Connect with that leader
And connect with the people they are talking to

❌ Don’t make it any harder than that!

There’s not some secret hiding place people are waiting to buy your stuff

So…
WHO’s customers are you looking for?

To be clear, I’m not suggesting you go steal customers from people
But just because they are a customer of someone else doesn’t mean they can’t be your customer too
Especially if you find a way to provide value in a slightly different way.
So if you are a marketer and you don’t know at least 30-50 of the major players are in your space…
I highly encourage you to go out and identify them now
And you won’t have a problem “finding traffic”
